New Furniture

We sold the trailer on Monday!!!!!  We got our money back. We went yesterday to give the down payment to our fiance people. We will be in our house no later than July 1st. It really is happening. I am so thankful that this whole situation has worked out. We also went and picked out our new couch it is a sectional.

Quote Note 24

Modern cynics and skeptics... see no harm in paying those to whom they entrust the minds of their children a smaller wage than is paid to those to whom they entrust the care of their plumbing.

Quote Note 23

What is a firefighter?
He's the guy next door....
He's a guy like you and me with warts and worries and unfulfilled dreams.
Yet he stands taller than most of us.
He's a fireman....
A fireman is at once the most fortunate and the least fortunate of men.
He's a man who saves lives because he has seen too much death.
He's a gentle man because he has seen the awesome power of violence out of control.
He's responsive to a child's laughter because his arms have held too many small bodies that will never laugh again....
He doesn't preach the brotherhood of man.
He lives it.

Quote Note 22

So as you look at the firefighter with his rake, hose or axe,
His beet red face or ice covered mustache,
You should know why he goes through that smoky front door,
And is forced to crawl like a baby down on the floor.
He does it to save both lives and property,
All that is precious to you and to me.
So take a good look at this modern warrior who serves his call proud and true,
And know that he would die just to save me and you.

Paperwork and Gas Prices that Suck!!!!

We are going to do paperwork on the house tomorrow. No, we have not come up with the $1900 yet. (there is still time) I do not know if I have said this before, but it is an owner fiance. The owner is considering giving us a loan with the trailer as collateral. Steve's sister is buying some land behind her house, so she cant afford to buy the trailer back. I put the trailer on Craigslist. I have a a couple of inquires but no solid I want it, and I am buying it. We are trying not to stress over this. It will happen if it is meant to happen. I am trying to be patient, but it really is hard.

Gas prices are creeping slowly to the $4.00 mark. I know in some places it has already sailed over the $4.00 mark. Diesel is even worse almost $5.00. I wish Steve could do his deliveries in our car. It has so much better gas mileage, but I do not think we could get a Trane ac unit in our tiny cobalt. I really do not why our government can not help to lower gas prices. They are really hurting a lot of people. Some of us are having to choose between groceries or gas, but the sad thing is if you do not have gas most people can not get to work. How can we change this problem? I saw the assistant CEO or whatever he is from e@@on when they had their board member meeting in Dallas. The man had the nerve to say we need to cut back. Where have we not cut back from. This man makes millions every year. He is not hurting, Lets see him do what we do. Those million do not begin to compare to what the oil companies are making off of us. Everything is going up it is not just the gas prices it is food, clothing, health and beauty items, cleaning supplies, and a list that keeps getting longer and longer.

Family Stuff and More

I usually go out on deliveries with Steve, but today I am really tired. I did not want to get up at all. I am still struggling to stay awake. This weekend is Father's Day. This years Father's Day will be special I am spending it with my Daddy, and Momma along with my brother and his family, my sister and her family, and my Paw Paw.  It will be great, I have not seen my Paw Paw in a year. It will be great to see him. Anytime our family  gets together it turns out to be a really good time.

Yesterday our last delivery was in Denton so we stopped in to see my Mom and Dad. They were very surprised to see us. We had dinner and talked. We did not leave till about 10. We did not get home till after 11.

Steve really  likes this job. He is having fun with it, but we are putting half of his check in the truck, which blows. So he is looking for another job while he is making his deliveries. He really would love to keep this job if we were not spending so much on diesel. He puts in about 60 bucks a day in the truck. That is 300 bucks a week. That is just too much going in the tank.

Quote Notes 17

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.

To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.

I so need this one today. It is a hard thing to do. Forgiveness is a wonderful thing when you achieve it.

The Great Family Evening, and Our Home

We had such a good time last night. The guys got home about 11:30. We were playing cards and knocking a few back. We did not get home till after 3 in the morning. It was after 4 when we finally got to bed. My Mom, my Sister, and myself just spent time with each other bitching about what was chapping our back ends. I was so damn relaxed. It was such a happy night. I really didn't want to come back to where we live now. I really can not call it home because it is not home.

Home. I love that word. I love what it means, what it stands for. We learned yesterday that we have the house, our new home maybe. We need $1900 by next  Friday. Right now it seems like a million dollars. We have the house in our hands and we can't close our palms over it. We are going to try and sell the trailer back to Steve's sister. I am hoping basically to get our money back.

Quote Note 11

More marriages might survive if the partners realized that sometimes the better comes after the worse.

Doug Larson

8 Years

We have been married eight years. It is so hard to believe that it has been this long. Sometimes it seems like we just got married and other times it seems like it was forever ago. It has been a wild eight years. It is the good times that stick out the most. Although some of those good times have been during some of the hardest parts of our marriage. Yet that is when we were the most connected. When we literally lost everything, but each other, and had to start over. You still make me laugh like no one else can. I love being able to look at you and know what you are thinking, and you can do the same with me. You are truly my best friend. I can not even begin to picture my life without you. It would be so boring. I always figured we would have some kids by now, and I would love to mother your children, but we also are very gifted that we have had these years together without kids. We know each other so well, and that really does not happen very often. We agreed in our premarital counseling that divorce was not in our vocabulary, it was not an option. I think we made a great decision in that. We work on our marriage everyday. It really does take work from both of us. I can not wait to spend the rest of our lives together. Baby I love you so much more than you can ever know. You are a wonderful husband. You support me in so many ways. I am always behind you 100% in everything. You are so special. I do not begin to know how I got so lucky. I love you!!!!Happy anniversary!!!!!

This Weekend, Next weekend, Another New Job, and Our Anniversary

We spent the weekend with our family. Steve's sister Amy came over and we went fishing out at the pound in the pasture. Amy brought all her kids over and we went swimming. It is the first time they have been over in about 2 years. Patty and Amy are too much alike to really get along. We had a lot of fun hanging out with more of Steve's family than we usually get to. Patty got tickets to go to the race track next weekend, but she decided not to go. She is getting shots in her knees to help with her OA, and she is in a lot of pain after the shots for a couple of days. It is for qualifying for the IRL and the the Nascar Truck Series. I am not going, I am going to spend the day with my Mom and my sister. Steve is going with my Dad, my sister's husband, and one of my nephews. I am so excited that the guys are all spending time together. Tomorrow is mine and Steve's anniversary. It is hard to believe it has been eight years.

Steve started another new job. He decided he needed to make more money. He has gone back to driving. Although with this job I can go with him. I do his paperwork. He is working as a courier. He really seems like he is enjoying the job.

Quote Note 10

That is what marriage really means: helping one another to reach the full status of being persons, responsible and autonomous beings who do not run away from life.
