Daily Devotion----Words are Power

Exercise foresight and be on the watch to look [after one another], to see that no one falls back from and fails to secure God's grace (His unmerited favor and spiritual blessing), in order that no root of resentment (rancor, bitterness, or hatred) shoots forth and causes trouble and bitter torment, and the many become contaminated and defiled by it.

                                    Hebrews 12:15

Jesus said, " If you have faith (a firm relying trust) and do not doubt.....even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and cast into the sea, it will be done. And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and [really] believing, you will receive"    Matthew 21:21-22

Don't misuse the power of words by talking too much without faith or talking too little about your faith. Choose kind and gentle words that lift people and quiet gossip and strife. Believe that God's grace will prevail through what you say.

Our words have a profound affect on those around us. We need to be conscious of what is coming out of our mouths. We can either encourage, praise, and lift someone up or we can criticize, discourage, and tear someone down. Think back in your life I am sure that you have gotten both encouragement and discouragement. How did each one make you feel? Which would you rather get? The golden rule comes in play here. Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself.

The True Church

Persecutions of Christians can come in many forms and in different places. You do not have to be in Africa to suffer persecution, it happens right here on your doorstep. There are many precious Christians here in the United Kingdom that have suffered at the hands of their countrymen, and also at their local churches, - - - - - More At Site Billy
