Stuff and Stuff
My nephew William broke his wrist in football practice on Tuesday. He is very upset that he will not get to play until it has healed. He just started playing in a new position. He now plays offence. I think he said he was playing half back. His coach told him William you are not the truck driver, you are the truck. Go run people over. You have to understand William is in the 7th grade and is not quite 14 yet, but he is over 6ft tall and weighs 220 lbs. He is not fat either he is solid. He looks like an senior in high school. His brother Scott started high school this year and they were walking around during registration and the high school cheerleaders were trying to get him to do something with them. If only they knew they were hitting on a seventh grader.
Steve's new job is going good. He just started getting on the road this last week. He has lots of training to complete along with the hurricane that hit Houston. That is is daily route.
We have started going to a church near the house. It is a great church. They do not preach watered down scripture. The people are real nice and the pastor is very friendly. He stopped by the house Tuesday night to get to know us a little better. We are going to become members of the church.

A Poem for my Mom
My Mom
My Mom is beautiful.
My Mom is smart.
My Mom is kind.
My Mom loses things.
My Mom forgets things.
My Mom loves her family.
My Mom believes in all that God promises.
My Mom cared for all of us when we were kids.
My Mom is my example.
My Mom is my best friend.
Mom we were blessed to have you as our Mom.
Have You Forgotten

My Bread Man and the Hurricane
Well Steve is no longer a Dr. Pepper man. He got fired. It really sucked, but I know everything happens for a reason. He was running late and he called his boss to tell him he would be late and the boss told him do not bother coming in at all turn your stuff in when you pick up your paycheck on Friday. And that was all she wrote. Well he started a new job again, on Monday. He will be delivering bread. Do you know the bread store Panera? That is who he is working for. He works from 12am till he is done going to Waco and Houston every day. He works a four day week. They want him to make a run to Houston this weekend, but with Ike supposed to hit Houston pretty hard they are not sure if they are going to evacuate, and if they do that there will be no way in to Houston. I am really not to crazy about the idea of him driving into a hurricane. I know the Lord will protect him. They are predicting that we will get some pretty stormy weather because of Ike. Tornadoes and flooding are likely. Sounds like it is going to be a rough weekend.
Cookies and the Cookie Monsters
I baked homemade chocolate chips cookies Monday. I ended up with over 4 dozen cookies. That is a lot of cookies people. They were moist and yummy. They fell apart in your mouth, they were so freakin good!!!!! They are gone, gone I tell you. I did not realize that there were so many cookie monsters in my family. I am a cookie monster, so is my Dad, my Mom, and my husband. I sent some over to my Mother in laws house and they are also cookie monsters. It is hard to believe that over 48 cookies are gone in 2 days. I have been meaning to make these cookies for my neighbors as a thank you for the warm welcome to the neighborhood, but it looks like I am going to have to make another batch. I did not even get a picture of these so delicious cookies. This picture is from the first time I made them. Do they not look yummy???

Facing the Giants
I love this movie. If you want a movie you can watch with your entire family and relax this is a movie for you. It is about a high school football coach not doing to well on many different areas of his life. He turns to God and his prayers are answered. This movie has a little bit for everyone. Get ready to get inspired and keep some tissues around if you cry at movies like I do. There are 2 more movies by this church Flywheel and Second Chances. They also have a new movie coming out on Sept 26 called Fireproof. I can not wait to see that movie.

There Are Good Men Out There
- Steve, my husband is a great man. He takes care of me financially so I can stay home, he does not complain about being the sole bread winner. He has supported me through many times of need. I know he will always be there when I need him. He is my rock. He has opened our home to my parents and makes them feel welcome and reassures them that they are welcome to stay as long as they need/want to. He is very romantic he is always making sure that I feel loved and appreciated. There is not a day goes by that he does not tell me I am beautiful, that he loves me, that I am the only one he wants to be with.
- Jackie, my father, well I still call him Daddy. He is a great man. I have always been a Daddy's girl. When I was young he took me on dates. He worked hard to give us all we wanted and needed. I know he will be there wither it is to fix a leaky sink or to let me cry on his shoulder. I looked to him to find out how a man should treat his wife. He treats my Mom like the queen she is. My parents will be married 29 years in Oct. I have seen him struggle this last year with lung cancer and win. He will always be a hero in my eyes.
- Ricke, my brother is a great man. He so lovingly calls me sasquatch. He is a wonder father to his children. And a very loving husband.
- Rich, my brother in law is a great man. He treats my sister like gold. He has taken on two boys that are not his, but treats them as they are his children. I respect him so much the way he loves those boys.
- Scott and William, my nephews will be great men. Scott will be 16 tomorrow (if you are driving in the Euless Tx area tomorrow be very afraid). He still calls me Aunt Jaja. He is sweet and kind more than most 16 year olds are. William is 13 and sends me myspace messages to tell me he loves me and asks "wuts up". He is also sweet and loving and has an innocents to him that makes me smile every time I see him.
I am blessed. I have truly wonderful men around me.
