So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts upon them [obeying them] will be like a sensible (prudent, practical, wise) man who built his house upon the rock.
Matthew 7:24
Being out of balance opens the door for the devil to rob people of the good life. The devil tempts them to live in excess and extremes. He pushes some to be workaholics and others to be lazy, whichever works to keep them unproductive. He drives some to seek wealth above God, and convinces others that poverty is godliness.
I believe that the only safe life is a balanced life. And a balanced life is obtained by keeping it's priorities in line with God's truth. Build your life on solid, safe ground by praying to God and listening to his plan for you.

Uh oh.....
I'm one who knows no moderation. My life is a testimony to 'if some is good MORE is better'.
Today my 'if some is good' looks entirely different--He's done well at whittling away at the icky stuff I played around in and I've discovered 'service to G-d and others'. It's a way cool thing. And had someone told me eons ago that I'd arrive here.....I'da laughed myself silly.
However, here I am (through grace--trust me!)
And G-d has a funny way of using my defects for the good--at least until I'm 'ready' to hand them over to Him.
Soooo.....Today my practice is to do whatever He's put in front of me to be of service to Him and others-- and trust that He'll make arrangements for the 'rest' when it's time for rest.
So far--so good!
:-)
Moderation, whats that? I think I need a dictionary....
This is still very much a learning process. I know it will always be a learning process but some is starting to get through this thicked headed skull of mine.
