Last Night Was Totally Awesome

Last night we went to the Chris Tomlin concert. Steve bought tickets for him and I, but it turns out that the some members of the choir also had tickets. There was a total of 9 people in our group. We had dinner at On the Border. It was nice to get to know some members outside of the church. We did not get to sit with the choir members, but we had great seats. Israel New Breed was also performing. The entire concert was so awesome. You could feel God all over the room. It was just wonderfully awesome. My soul got fed and I needed that so much. I feel so alive and in touch with God. I was feeling so lost and confused about a lot of things, but this concert touched my heart. God layed something on my heart that lifted the burdens off my shoulders. I know I keep using the word awesome, but that is the only way I know how to describe the night.

Daily Devotion-Approach God's Throne

Photobucket

Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly

draw near to the throne of grace

(the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners),

that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and

find grace to help in good time for every need

[appropriate help and well-timed help,

coming just when we need it].

Hebrews 4:16

What a great High Priest we have in Jesus. He understands our experiences, and He knows what it is like to live in a human body. He positioned Himself to go through the same kind of temptations we do, but He did not give in to them.

He knows that the temper lies in wait for us, and He knows we need His mercy and strength. We still fall short even when we have the best of intentions to do good. God tells us to receive, not strive to get, but just to receive mercy for each day.

Bad Blogger, No Donuts

I have been a bad blogger. I have not posted in a long while. We have been so busy. I have had no motivation to post.

Jess got here with no problem. She went to church with us on Sunday morning. She is settling in. We are waiting on some paperwork so we can get her enrolled in school.

I did not get my verse memorized last week; so I will be memorizing the same verse, hopefully.

Faith is too smart for her own good. When I wash my bras I do not dry them. I hang them on the inside of our room on the door knob. If our door is not all the way closed she will pull on my bra strap to open the door wide enough to get through and then pull the door closed it is the funnniest thing.

Here We Go..........Again

In two hours, Jess will be catching a bus to come here. She will arrive 1:35 Sunday morning.
Lord, please help us help this girl. She needs You, Your guidance and Your love. Please help us be patient with her. Help us have compassion and understanding.

Daily Devotion-God Will Help You

Photobucket

The Lord will give [unyielding and impenetrable]
strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.
Psalm 29:11
God has been showing me that we need to be aware of His present provisions now, and not in the future. In Psalm 28:7 David said of God, " I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him." He did not say," I will be helped."
Wait on God, because God's help will strength you to behave in a godly way all day long, if you trust in Him. Even while you wait on God to manifest His plan, your heart can greatly rejoice in His presence. Tell someone something good that God has done for you, and then watch Him move in the presence of your praise.

A Trip to the E.R.

Steve started feeling very bad Thursday afternoon. His stomach was not feeling to hot to put it nicely. He went to work Friday night as usual, but he got sick in the parking lot in front of his boss, in his works parking lot. The boss gave him a shorter route, but he only made it through half of the route. He called me and I met him at the local E.R. Turns out the gout medicine was making him so sick. I think he took too many pills. There is no limit of how many he can take, but you are supposed to stop taking them when you have stomach discomfort or the pain of gout goes away. Well the pain eased but never disappered, but his stomach never started hurting either. So we will be much more careful next time a gout flair up happens. He is feeling much better. He is getting back to his usual self.

He has been spending a lot of time playing with Faith. She is a toe biter. We took her to PetsMart today. We got her a colar and a leash. Faith is really trying to get Princess to play with her, but Princess is a little jealous.

Scripture By Memory

I got my Scripture page finished and linked up. I am so proud of myself. I had no clue how to make a button, or a button link. I have learned a lot in the last couple of days. Go check out the new page, and join me in memorizing God's Word.

Daily Devotion-Be Strong

Photobucket

The Lord is my Strength and my [impenetrable] Shield;
my heart trusts in, relies on, and confidently
leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart
greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him.
The Lord is their [unyielding] Strength, and
He is the Stronghold of salvation to [me] His anointed.
Psalm 28:7-8
We can plan to be worn out before we ever feel tired. I used to expect to be totally wiped out physically and emotionally after my conferences. Then I prayed that as I poured out my energy and strength into obeying God, He would pour energy and strength back into me.
The Bible says that giving is sowing a seed that will reap a harvest(see Galatians6:7-10). If we give our strength, we will reap God's Strength in our life, as we serve the Lord. He will anoint us with strength today, if we will call on Him to do so.

On Second Thought

Well Steve decied that he did not like the name Alli for the new puppy. So let me reintroduce....Faith

My Husband Rocks~ How We Have Fun

Prompt/Theme for Friday, February 6, 2009
Tell us about some of the things that you and your husband do to just have fun together!
We snuggle up under blankets with all kinds of goodies to snack on and watch movies. We like to play games(cards, video, dice, board). We love to just get in the car and discover new places. We go shopping. Yes, my hubby likes to shop with me. We like to do DIY projects around the house. We like to take walks. We have fun by being together. We have fun volunteering at Church on Saturdays.
My hubby does really rock. Yesterday, his gout started acting up. He is in so much pain. He can barely walk on his foot. He tries so hard not to let this stuff stop him from working hard. He could not even get his foot in his shoe. So he is in bed feeling very guilty for not being at work. When I go to bed I have to worry about not kicking or even touching his foot. The foot is the one on my side, if that makes any sense.

Daily Devotion-Let God Strength You

My life dissolves and weeps itself away for heaviness;
raise me up and strengthen me
according to [the promises of] Your word.
Remove from me the way of falsehood
and unfaithfulness [to You], and graciously
impart Your law to me.
Psalm 119:28-29
We need to strengthened and renewed on a daily basis. We need to be strengthened physically, mentally, and emotionally. We need to be strong so we do not fall apart every time we have to face some situation we had not planned on.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and he expects us to develop stability in our lives. We can be strengthened and renewed by drawing strength from God, by exercising our faith, and by doing what He tells us to do.

Hillsong - Mighty to Save

This is for You

I am sorry I upset you with what I wrote. I never meant to do that. I am sorry for everything. I miss you a lot. I called you earlier, but you did not answer, did you get my message? Well it is nice to know that you read this. It is nice to know that someone in our family reads it. Dad used to, but since they moved in, I guess he decided he already knew what I was writing about. I miss you and the boys, yes I even miss Raider. We all do. Please do not take this out on Mom. She really is having a hard time with all this. I hope to talk to you soon. We love all of yall.

Coupons Are My Friends

I do not think I have ever talked about my love affair, it is a love affair with coupons. Coupons are my friend, my very best money saving, friend.

^ That is my coupon note book.^

I use baseball card plastic sheets to hold and organize my friends.

We (the hubby and I) went to Wally World after he got paid last time and the coupon book always goes with us. I managed to save a $40.00 at Wally World. That is huge at Wally, cause they do not double or triple coupons. We went to Albies where they triple up to .39 cents (Did you know there is no cent sign on my keyboard? Is that every keyboard? I guess I have failed to notice this little tid bit of information.) and double up to .50 cents. I had a coupon for blistex lip balm that was worth .35 cents so it was tripled (follow me OK.) The lip balm was $1.39 B1G1(Buy one Get one Free). With the triple couple I saved $1.05 on each tube I bought. I got 4 tubes of lip balm for .68 cents. Yes, I know 4 tubes of chap stick is a little obsessive, but for the record (if there is a record) I was only planning on buying 2, but I can not turn down a B1G1. Beside I will either lose the dangs things or I will end up putting at least one tube in the dryer. It never fails.
On Sundays, after church, the hubby and I head to Ablies to get a Sunday Paper, well I buy the double paper you get 2 papers for a discounted price. I also print coupons off the internet. I like to keep my notebook full and I try to compare prices between Wally and Albie. You have to be careful, but if you wacth for the price changes you can get some really awesome deals!

Daily Devotion-Be Proactive

O turn to me and have mercy and be gracious to me;
grant strength (might and inflexibility to temptation)
to Your servant and save the son of Your handmaiden.
Psalm 86:16
Jesus warned His disciples about all that He was to go through, because He knew it would be difficult for them too. He said," Pray that you will not be tempted" (see Matthew 6:13, 26:41). He did not say, " Wait to pray until you have been tempted, or until you have given into temptation, or until you are up to your neck in sin and perversion!" Jesus teaches us to be proactive, which Webster defines as acting in anticipation of future problems, needs, or changes."
Many Israelites had already dies from snake bites before the rest of them finally said, "pray for us, Moses, for we have sinned" (see Numbers 21:4-9) They should have recognized their need for God's help much sooner than they did! Do not wait until you are in trouble to seek God. Ask Him to keep you from being tempted to sin today.

Daily Devotion-Wait With Purpose

My [inner] self [as well as my body] is also exceedingly
disturbed and troubled. But You, O Lord,
how long [until You return and speak peace to me]?
Return [to my relief], O Lord, deliver my life;
save me for the sake of Your steadfast love and mercy.
Psalm 6:3-4
Avoid getting negative when you look at your circumstances. Actively wait on God to give you strength to walk in the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Wait with purpose, silently listening for Him to speak, eagerly watching for Him to act.
Tell Him, " Lord I receive strength to be Your ambassador and witness. Your word tells me to love people who mistreat me. Though it is hard to do in the natural, I receive strength from You to be loving today."
Then watch for the opportunity to act godly as He gives you strength to do so.
