I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review. Click here to download the first chapter.
This story follows two women, Mariam and Cindy, in their journey of friendship. They come from two different worlds. Cindy is a fiction author who travels the country, using the latest technology to keep up with life. Miriam is an Amish women living in her traditions of simplicity. They do however have some major common bonds that help build the friendship that neither one expects. They are both wives, between the two of them they have been married for sixty years. They are both mothers. They have nine children between them. They also serve and worship the same God.
I did not know this was a non fiction book, but that is OK because I loved Plain Wisdom anyway. It gives a polite look into an Amish families life, home, and community. It also has many real world truths about us as sinners and our God who loves us so much. Each new chapter starts with a scripture which is in line with the chapters theme. I can not wait to try out some of the recipes they share in this book. They sound so good. This book proves all you need is an open heart and a plate full of salad dressing to start a life long friendship. I will be reading this book again.

Okay.....here's one I need to pick up!
I thoroughly enjoyed the first chapter and this line: successes are possible…and failures are inevitable, but they’re never final when placed in His hands.
Awesome!
Thank you.
And welcome back! :-)
