I do not know what these are, but they grow all around near our home. Mom said they looked like purple pineapples.
OK I have found the name of this pretty thing, but I still like Mini Purple Pineapple. It is officially called Eryngo. I have no idea how to say it either so I am sticking with Mini Purple Pineapple. I also found out that they are a Texas wildflower. They are also regularly mistaken for Thistle.

Well, gosh.....at first glance they looked like a sort of thistle. But I'm glad to hear they're mini purple pineapples! LOL
