It is State Fair Time Again!!!

We love going to the State Fair of Texas every year. The hubby and I took Mom along. We had a blast. Yes, you know that the camera went along also. (I still need a name for her!) We went through a butterfly house. I have never seen more butterflies in my life than I did yesterday. They had ones that are called blue morphs. They are AMAZING!! When they land they automatically close their wings so you can not see the beautiful color of the wings on the inside.  On the outside they are brown and have several "eye" spots, I think the very knowledgeable butterfly lady said seven.

I tried to get a good shot of them flying to catch the blue in their wings, they are amazing. I will warn you now that the best picture I captured is not in focus, but I wanted to share it with you. I was chasing him around with my lens. It was such a vibrant blue.

We saw a cool dog show. It was called Amazing Dobermans. Very cute dogs.

Jumping through a tiny hoop.

We saw some awesome cars. I fell in love with 3 of them. One was a pink Camero. It was all dressed up to support breast cancer. I did not take pictures of the other two. The second one was a VW bug. I have always wanted a bug. The new models look more like the classic ones. The third one was the Chevy Volt, it is an electric car.  I would love any one of the three.

We got to see a parade. It was so pretty. I love parades!!!! Plus an awesome Special Effect show. I will post more pictures and some videos of a talking robot, talking to me. I so want to go again this year. They have an exhibit of Chinese lanterns that looks breath taking at night, but it is kind of expensive.

Holy moly........the state fair in October?!
I think ours hits the end of the growing season because we're such a rural state, maybe? October seems a bit late--but omgosh aren't you glad to have gone. The colour of that butterfly IS amazing--I would have been wandering around there for hours and missed the dogs! LOL
Awesome photos, though--excellent action shots of the puppies doing their stuff.
What fun!!

Don't forget that I live in Texas. It is way too hot to have a fair any earlier. Sometimes it is still really hot in late Sept/early Oct. We got blessed the day we went. It was a beautiful day.
