Christmas and New Years

I got two new toys for the camera for Christmas, wait make that six new things for the camera. I got a tripod. That was a Black Friday special along with a bigger memory card and an external hard drive to store my pictures on so I do not use up all the computer memory. My sister in law also gave me a memory card. I now am the proud owner of two 16 gb memory cards. My mother in law gave me a lens and an external flash. She found them in a pawn shop and got one heck of a deal. I think the lens is going to have to go to the camera store. It doesn't work all the time in auto focus mode, but it is an awesome zoom lens that has a Marco mode on it. I can not wait to take it out to shoot. I have not been able to go anywhere lately to take photos. Hubby has been crazy busy and I like to have photo adventures with him. I tried to capture the fog we got this evening but no such luck.


New Year's Eve night was good. I got to spend it with the hubby for the first time in several years, plus I did not have not worry about him being out on the road the all the crazy drunks. Yet I did not get to give him a big smooch at midnight because, he has the dreaded flu!!! He only got kisses on the cheek and the forehead, but I was very happy to be with him. I hope this new year is full of blessings and joy for y'all.

Flocked Trees

We went to a Christmas tree farm to see about cutting our own tree for the year. They unfortunately lost a bunch of tress due to the drought,  but had brought in a bunch of trees from somewhere else. They even offered to custom color flock your tree. That blue one was amazing looking in person. They even had a pink one, but much to everyone's surprise I really did not think the pink tree looked pretty.
