My favorite Strawberry Cake!!!

I love this cake. It is so good. It is crazy moist. It does have to stay in the fridge cause the cream cheese, but I promise it will not stay there long. It is a box cake mix made the same way the instruction call for except you add in the yogurt while mixing everything together. The frosting is homemade. I have picky eaters in my family ones who do not like cream cheese or cool whip and they LOVE this cake so give it a try.

  • 1 Boxed cake mix Strawberry or Vanilla depending on how much strawberry flavor you want. I think its better with the strawberry but I have made it both ways.
  • 1 Cream cheese (keep cold)
  • 1 Cool Whip  (keep frozen)
  • 2 packages of Strawberries
  • 3/4 Cup of sugar
  • Oil  (follow cake instructions)
  • Eggs (follow cake instructions)
  • 1 Strawberry Yogurt
  • 2 nine inch cake pans

Preheat your oven to the temperature the cake mix says usually its 350. Lightly grease and flour your pans.

Start by following the cake instruction add in your yogurt as you mix everything together. Pour your batter into the pans and place into the oven when preheated.

While your cake is baking put your cream cheese and cool whip in your mixing bowl.
Add about 3/4 cup of sugar. You can use less if you want it less sweet. Mix in till the frosting peaks when you touch it. Keep cold/frozen while waiting for cake to bake/cool.

Slice your strawberries. You want some sliced in half for the top of the cake, but you also want some that are flat to put between the layers of the cake!

Allow your cake to completely cool. I often put them on the freezer to speed this up. Apply frosting to one cake, then add strawberries. Place second cake on top, add frosting, then add the rest of your strawberries.
